About the Artist

After graduating with a BA in Illustration from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco in 1980, Jody A Lee has worked as a freelance artist in the publishing industry for over 40 years. Her fantasy illustrations have graced the covers of authors Mercedes Lackey, Michele West, Kate Elliot, Mickey Zucker Reichert, Katherine Kerr, and many others. Her cover art has been shown in the Museum of Illustration in New York and the Delaware Museum of Art, been included in several issues of Spectrum and Infected by Art, and nominated by the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists.

After many decades in New York, Jody has returned to her home state of California. Working in oils or acrylics, she continues to do commissioned art for book covers and to create works in imaginative realism. This is the site that showcases her work over many years in this field, and what she is working on currently. Artworks available for sale will in the future be in the section called Gallery.

Jody is also a glass artist, making flamework glass beads and sculptures, and glass fusing with American made Bullseye Glass. Her crafts and glass work can be seen at www.astudiobythesea.com or bought via her Etsy shop, www.astudiobythesea.etsy.com
