Princess Elspeth of Valdemar has gone to the secretive Vale of the Hawkbrothers to train her mage powers when she and Gwena, her Companion, are attacked a pack of wyrsa. While Gwena rears in attack, Elspeth calls on her own sorcerous winds to defeat them. This is a beautiful and unusual full action scene, done in tones of sapphire, lavender, and pale greens, and set in the deep and mysterious forests of the Tayledras. Two gentle dyheli turn away for flight in the background. I chose to put Elspeth in Hawkbrother garb, partly for variety, and partly because when in Rome, one should do as the Romans do. This painting is available already framed.
